We almost always order our takeaway chinese from these guys and have had no complaints until tonight. My wife's 50th birthday and we thought it would be nice to eat in instead of getting takeaway. The pricing was substantially higher than the take away but we didn't mind. Then we got the Fried Rice and served it up with the other beautiful food. We were happily eating until we noticed a burnt flavour permeating the food. Had a look at the rice and realised that it was severely burnt. I mean lots of black bits in it. Drew the waitresses attention and she said, where is it burnt and started staring intently into the rice as if she couldn't see. Finally, she said - I'll take it into the kitchen and see what they will do. Finally, she came out with a fresh plate of rice and said, no charge for the extra plate of rice. When we went to the counter to pay, I pointed out that about a third of the food was affected by the burnt rice and that I felt we shouldn't need to pay for the rice at all. I mean, the burnt rice was sent out by the kitchen without any concern for the black bits and burnt aroma??? The best I could get them to agree to was to charge just for a small rice. (about $2 off the price) Look the money is irrelevant, but the attitude sucked. The "manager" refused to discuss it with me - the front counter person kept saying, "I am just doing my job" and refused to discuss the matter. For me, we were discussing about $6 or less than 10% of the bill, but I was really annoyed at the refusal to discuss and the attitude of "well, we didn't charge you for the replacement rice" - if they had, I would have been less than quietly assertive as I was. All about attitude guys. An apology at least would have been nice, but to then act as though they had done me a favour? sheesh.
