Eileen is the mother you miss from home. She makes you feel welcome and safe. She always has a warm hello and her knowledge of the food and especially the wine list has you picking the right combination every time. "Sean the chef" seems to get the best out of every dish. My favourite dish for entree would have to be the Stuffed Mushrooms. They way they melt in your mouth makes your taste buds tingle and the pate that they are stuffed with has the most creamy, rich texture that is perfect with the meatiness of the mushrooms. My pick for the main course is the Lamb Shanks. They come off the bone with just a twist of the fork and is matched perfectly with the mushroom sauce. They are slow cooked for five hours and seem to jump into your mouth. The most dissapointing part of the dish is when you go to take another bite and there is no more left. All the mains come with steamed veges, and of course, mashed potatoes. If you can fit anything more in, which is hard, as all the dishes are good sizes and are very filling, the Bailey's Cheesecake is worth a go. It has a smooth creamy taste which is not too rich and won't make you feel like you need to undo that top button of your pants. I would definately put this restaurant at the top of my list when booking a birthday, special dinner or just another meal out. I have not had a bad experience when going to Mulligan's. LOVE IT!
