I have been a regular at Mike's Grill and Bar since it opened about a year and a half ago and the food there is absolutely divine. The portion's are generous and the variety on the menu and the special's board means both myself and my family always have the option of trying something different each time we go. Although, I am a creature of habit can never go past the Greco Pizza, it is by far the best woodfire pizza I've had since my trip to Italy in 1999. The Rib's are always a favourite among my son's and husband and the all you can eat night on Thursday's definately cater's for their endless appetite's. The service has always been very prompt and friendly, which is something I really appreciate in a restaurant. However, Mike's Grill and Bar was closed over the Christmas period and, naturally I still didn't want to cook on week end's, so I decided to try out Mike's Grill in the Crest Hotel, Sylvania. It took a lot of convincing from my son's as I am definately not a pub person, however I decided to go and let me tell you, I never looked back. This was higher than restaurant quality food within a pub environment and at pub prices!! I tried the Atlantic Salmon special and it was by far the best Salmon I have ever had- the texture was perfect and it just melted in my mouth. I also had to try my husband's T-Bone and it was cooked to perfection. I have definately changed my opinion on eating at 'the pub' after this experience. I actually recognised one of the waitstaff from the Grill and Bar and let me say the service was great, was given help deciding what to have which was needed as it was my first time. One thing I know for sure is it will not be my last visit to Mike's, the service and quality of food is definately consistent between the two restaurants!! I will continue to go to the Grill and Bar on a constant basis due to the atmosphere and quality of pizza's however now I know there's always Mike's Grill at the pub which is just as inviting. I've heard there's a new seafood one open, it comes highly recommended and I hope to try that out soon!!
